Rockstar Confirms GTA 6 File Size is 212 GB, and Pre-Load Starts November 10

The digital pre-load opens more than a week before launch, so it is time to clear space

GTA 6 file size confirmed at 212 GB with pre-load on November 10

Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 needs 212 GB of storage, and that digital pre-load starts on November 10, earlier than first announced. The details come from a post on Rockstar’s Newswire on November 3, and they match the earlier report of about 210 GB.

Pre-load dates and times

  • Digital copies: Pre-load opens on November 10. On PS5 it starts at midnight local time, and on Xbox at 12 AM GMT.
  • Boxed copies with a digital code: Pre-load opens on November 12, when retailers receive their stock.
  • Launch day: The game unlocks on November 19.

How much space you need

212 GB is a big share of a console with a 1 TB drive, because the system keeps part of that space for itself. Delete games you no longer play before November 10, so the download is not delayed.

Poster and Map

On November 19, Rockstar will sell a printable GTA 6 poster and a map of Leonida as digital downloads for $1. A physical map comes later with purchases from the Rockstar Store, and it is not included in boxed copies, according to reports.

Our note: These details come from Rockstar’s announcement as reported by news outlets. Check Rockstar’s own pages for the latest.
